What people say about our Pixie Bob kittens

In preparation for an article, I emailed all those people who have bought Pixie Bob kittens from me. I asked for a one or two sentence response to the following question: I'd love to know what you most prefer about your Pixie Bob, and what, if anything you think is very different to other cats you have had. If you've had any difficulties with your Pixie Bob, it would also be good to hear about that.

"I've written a few paragraphs of things Shenona does, that are not typical to any other breed of cat or moggy.

Vocal.
She is extremely talkative, and her range of sounds are far more extensive than any other breed I've owned. Her most common noise can only be described as a quiet trumpet (she sounds like a baby elephant), that then finishes with a squeak and purr amalgamated together. I believe the latter is called chirping. Its so distinctive, and very difficult to describe. You'd really have to hear her to understand.

Like a dog.
The second thing is the puppy traits. She loves licking my hands and chewing my fingers when you play with her. She does it gently, but she gets over excited when you throw balls, toy mice etc. She has started to wag her tail when she gets excited.. And she likes to play tug of war games. She also take her favourite toy to bed with her. I have owned cats and dogs all my life, and I have never seen behaviour like it in a cat. She definately remains me of my dogs when they were young.

Fitting in.
In the short time I have owned her, I can't imagine what it would be like without her now. She intergrated into my life and home so quickly, that it's amazing to think I have only had her 4 weeks. She is bright, affectionate, bubbly and clever but not a lap cat.

Development.
Everyday she becomes more beautiful, and I can't wait to see how she will look when she is fully grown. She eats like a horse, and is getting taller so quickly. She is nearly the same height as my moggies now and she isn't even five months old yet. "

[I asked Claire specifically about the relationship between her Pixie Bob, Finch, and her border terrier, Purdey]

Somehow, Finch has managed to reduce Purdey to a lovesick pup who follows him around wherever he goes and licks him adoringly when they retire together in front of the TV. Finch loves playing with Purdey, which they do for hours, and Purdey prefers Finch to the other canine housemates!

Nos deux petites ne sont pas pour autant des chats innactifs, elles sont de grandes joueuses et quelle plaisir de jouer avec elles pendant des heures. Le pixie-bob est une race de chat encore peu connue mais une fois que vous en faîtes entrer un dans votre maison vous ne vous dîtes pas que c'est un animal de compagnie qui est à côté de vous mais un membre de plus dans votre tribu.

"My boyfriend and I adopted a 10 week old Pixie Bob kitten in summer 2008. Cena is our first cat, so we have little experience of other breeds to compare her to. However, she is the most delightful pet I could ever imagine owning. She's inquisitive and playful, yet affectionate and loving. "Baba Tunde est avant tout un "gentlecat".
