Responses to a recent survey (November 2008)In preparation for an article, I emailed all those people who have bought Pixie Bob kittens from me. I asked for a one or two sentence response to the following question: I'd love to know what you most prefer about your Pixie Bob, and what, if anything you think is very different to other cats you have had. If you've had any difficulties with your Pixie Bob, it would also be good to hear about that. Testimonial"Having always had moggies before, Muffin is totally different - she's trainable and can fetch and retrieve, she comes when we call and above all else she's totally gorgeous. The proof of the pudding is that we have many friends who don't like cats - without exception they all love Muffin! Lots of personality but not in your face, affectionate but not a lap cat and very good with kids." Nikki (Muffin's blog) Testimonial"I've written a few paragraphs of things Shenona does, that are not typical to any other breed of cat or moggy. Vocal. Like a dog. Fitting in. Development. Kelly (Shenona's blog) Testimonial[I asked Claire specifically about the relationship between her Pixie Bob, Finch, and her border terrier, Purdey] Somehow, Finch has managed to reduce Purdey to a lovesick pup who follows him around wherever he goes and licks him adoringly when they retire together in front of the TV. Finch loves playing with Purdey, which they do for hours, and Purdey prefers Finch to the other canine housemates! Claire Testimonial"This is what I love about them:
Sarah Testimonial"Rubie compared to a average cat is more playfull loves attention and also would sit on your lap for ages while you stroke her and would purr. Also I find compared to our normal cats we had she is more loyal and follows us everywhere and does not scratch or hiss at us if she is angrey." Reema and Shadley (Rubie-Lou's blog) Testimonial"Very loving, outgoing, very in your face, and of course they dont leave your side even when they have been fed, like normal domestic cats tend to do, they have an utter devotion to their owners that has not been known before ... " Amanda Testimonial"We own two pixie bobs which we got from Gertrud, both quite different but wonderful natures and very affectionate. Both go for walks on a harness with extended leads, the are just like little dogs. They love to be with you at all times, one loves to be cuddled while the other just wants to sit by you,Kiki chirps to us constantly and is very engaging with all our friends who visit. They are a breed apart and give us hours of enjoyment, they also travel very well in the car, with absolutely no stress. We just love this breed of cat. " Anne Testimonial"Here at Dantes Pixie Bobs we believe it was the most life changing event entering into a breeding program for these wonderful, unique, brave, beautiful, funny and honourable cats. They are amazing and swim like a fish!!!" [Note: That last comment screamed out for clarification, so I asked:] "Spirit, Sunny and Rhubi swim. I just fill my corner bath up in our ensuite. Its good fun for them and it builds their muscles up!" Jane at Dantes Testimonial"The thing I most prefer about Owanara is that she really has a vibrant personality, almost like a toddler. She lets you know how she is feeling and what she is thinking all the time. I also love her playfulness and her affectionate nature, she rarely wants to be alone and usually finds her way into the centre of things." Clare Testimonial"My boyfriend and I adopted a 10 week old Pixie Bob kitten in summer 2008. Cena is our first cat, so we have little experience of other breeds to compare her to. However, she is the most delightful pet I could ever imagine owning. She's inquisitive and playful, yet affectionate and loving. She doesn't leave our side when we're in the flat - just so obviously content simply being in our company. We're currently training her to walk on a lead, and while she's slightly timid in the outdoors, it's clear that she has a wonderful adventurous streak waiting to be unleashed over the coming months. It's the little things we love most about Cena's character - the way she skids across the kitchen floor when she's playing; the way she demonstrates her dismay at being left out when we're cooking; the way she curls up on our pillow when we're sleeping; and the way she relaxes into our arms with contentment when we hold her. The best thing of all is that I'm sure the next few months will be as equally, if not more, exciting than the first."
