It is amazing that we can continue to live with Jenkins and all his bits in a London flat. His manners are impeccable and he realises that there are bigger, badder cats in the house - as my son likes to point out. Jenkins manages to keep control of his urge to spray almost all of the time :-). He knows where he is not allowed to go, and when the door is open to one of the bed rooms, he waits by the threshhold for a nod to tell him that he is allowed to come in. Then he bounds with a running jump onto the bed. He loves beds. He prefers to sleep with a person at night, if he can, and prefers to watch TV on my lap. But not until I've given him permission: he sits, waits and stares at me until I give him the sign, then he runs over and sits with me. This is why they say that Pixie Bobs are the most dog-like of cats. Luckily, he is not all dog though, and his feline capacity for finding happyness in his surroundings is there loud and clear :-)

Jenkins's first litter of kittens was born today. Mum is wild looking Alsoomse Amie of AnsonRoad. With such parents, the kittens will no doubt be incredibly wild looking, with gorgeous temperaments, and amazing muzzles. Can't wait.

So, he's caught the mouse. He's incredibly strong - it's impossible to get that mouse off him and he doesn't even look like he's trying. I've still not been able to capture the real colouring in Jenkin's face. He has little or no rufus and is all dark coffee brown with linens and creams. His head is enormous and he reminds me so much of a snow leopard. I think it's the broad nose and totally substantial muzzle. A definite pear shape, nothing wedgy about it!

Alas, it's a mouse on a stick, but this does not dampen his enthusiasam. Jenkins get better and better. He is still a lanky teenager at 8 months old, but is now taller than his father and weighs 6.5 kg. That's all bone. Muscle is still to come!

Jenkins's grand mother on both sides is the grand-daughter of DixiePixie TxRose, who is out of DixiePixie Waco Bob and Dixie Pixie Cactus Rose. Also on both sides of his familiy tree is StoneIsland Bobby Woodruff and Kessa of Nativeson.

Jenkins has my perfect Pixie Bob muzzle: very broad with a strong broad nose and a good nose break, perfect length forward from the head - not too long and not too short, and perfect balance between the chubby wisker pads and the strong chin and nose.

It is hard to give a sense of how large Jenkins is. Here he is on the left at 6 months old. Digid, on the right, is one month younger than him....

Triangular eyeshape

The ideal eyeshape in the Pixie Bob is that triangle: Nice flat top, straight down towards the nose and a clear upward slant across the cheek bones.

Jenkins still has that special something, and look at those spots. He is 4 months old in these photos and now at 5 months, he is larger than his mother. He will be enormous!
